I came across this interview with Codie Young on Vogue Australia. She is an upcoming Australian model who has a very unique look, and a unique sense of style.

Like many teenagers, 18-year-old Codie Young loves catching up with friends, trawling through thrift stores and listening to defiant musicians like Pink. But unlike most girls her age, she has just emerged from her first fashion season in which she walked a staggering 40 shows. Impressively, the otherworldly beauty from the Sunshine Coast opened Marni in Milan and starred in everything from Lanvin to Chloe in Paris. But her real highlight was being given a coat by Marc Jacobs after the show in New York. “I looove that coat. It’s so different – so far no-one has a coat like it!”

Young’s unique way with clothes (“I suppose I have a hippie grunge look”) quickly saw the grown-up piece downplayed over a vintage sweatshirt, Acne jeans and her favourite pair of high-tops. It’s her preferred way to dress: easy, comfortable and with a fair dose of individuality. With a Vogue Australia cover and a shoot in Mexico, her launch into fashion’s stratosphere is well on track, but the lanky teen is staying firmly grounded, and charmingly acting her age. “I probably put [clothes] together a little better,” she says, “but at the end of the day, I’m still going to wear what I want!”
